very simple way to reduce your energy bills and carbon footprint."Lighting accounts for 20% of a typical household's energy bill and 30% of commercial properties bill. Cutting your lighting bill is one of the easiest ways to save energy and money"
The Future of lighting is LED technology
LED lighting is fast becoming the norm as old, inefficient bulbs are phased out. CDS electrical
can provide LED lamps that use upto 90% less energy than traditional lamps and last in excess
of 10 times longer. The technology being used in the manufacturing process of LED lamps is
changing at an incredible pace and in just a few years time they will be the main type of
lighting used in both domestic and commercial property in the UK.Reasons for changing to LED
- Electricity bill - LEDs use significantly less energy than traditional bulbs, because they create significantly less heat (Traditional incandescent bulbs lose up to 90% of their power creating heat which is wasted). Therefore your electricity bill will be less than if using other types of bulbs
- Replacement bulbs - The average lifespan of a LED is 25,000 hours, compared to 1,000-2,000 hours for an incandescent bulb, 2,000 hours for a halogen bulb and 4,000 hours for a CFL bulb. Therefore, you will save money as bulbs do not have to be replaced as often.
- Maintenance costs - For commercial premises, the cost of maintaining and replacing the lights can be very expensive. With LED lights, once they have been installed, there will be no additional maintenance costs for the life of the product.
